Natarajan Chandrasekaran popularly known as N Chandra has taken the top thrown at TCS from his predecessor Subramaniam Ramadorai who lead the company from 1999.When Chandra became the COO last year signals were sent out for his succession for the top post.If Ramadorai can be termed as the one who created this large enterprise it was Chandra who took TCS global and brought more agility in its operations. Chandra always had control of all the Business Units and it was his decision to venture TCS into different geographies.Chandra's striong Customer focus initiatives and ability to win large deals was critical for TCS's growth in the recent past. The man behind the $500mn Citi group BPO deal and acquisition of the UK based pearl group knows that the company has to move from its linear model of revenue growth.
Chandra would try to make the operations more lean and agile by making more leadership positions which might play a key role in decision making within the individual business units.Given its massive size with 1.5 lakh employees and a strong customer base , Chandra would like to improve the profit margins and Win deals in the space where the global heavy weights like IBM,HP and Accenture are dominant.
Wishing him all the best to take TCS to further heights !!!

Problems For Dhoni
With the Aussies taking the lead and the series away from India plenty of questions lie in front of the Indian team on the reasons for the failure and possibly the way they approached this series. Many would have thought that Dhoni's men would steal the series comfortably with the fact that this Aussie squad was the one of the least strong one to travel India. On the other hand Indians going with full Batting strength and decent bowling attacking managed only to win couple of matches and loosing twice as many along with the series.
It was a collective failure from the Indian squad which didn't capitalize on the early lead and was inconsistent in its batting.Every other batsmen from the Indian team had good scores in each of the matches but the collective effort for building partnerships and finishing the match was missing.Though it lost by narrow margin on the fifth ODI chasing 350 the team has to blame itself for the kind of temperament it showed after the departure of Sachin who was masterful as ever.Indian bowling attack seemed pretty ordinary against the Aussie line up which was not the best.Harbhajan's form with the Ball was not exiting and Nehra after returning to the team after quite a while needs some time to get back to the form.
With the series against the Lankan's starting next week one would wish Dhoni to solve the mysteries in the Indian bowling lineup. The Srilankan batting lineup is consistent with players who are used to the wickets of the sub continent.Expecting the returns of Dravid,Lakshman and Zaheer ,still the Indian top order would need to fire.Shewag and Gambhir would like batting together again at the top with Gambhir expecting to continue with his dream run.Dhoni will still require the little maestro Sachin to take his form from the ODI series with the middle order likely to get further boost with the return of Lakshman.Getting the right combination for the first test would be crucial for Dhoni.
Now the Pressure is back on Dhoni's men to win the final ODI for consolation and start the test series on a positive note.

Rain Rain Go Away
If you ask one thing which was in the mind of chennaites for the past 3 days it was" When this Rain will Stop??" ,though it was a delayed monsoon this year it was as strong as in the past.Tough for people commuting specially in MTC Bus and Two wheelers, there was a lot of difference this time as most parts of the city had decent drainage, water logging was less when compared to what we have seen in the recent pasts. This time entire tamilnadu received rains which may last up to next crop for the farmers.
But still given the fact that we have lot many problems in rain ,people have got used to it and its up to the government to constantly improve the infrastructure required to support these natural goods.

My Recent Movie
I recently watched "Aadhavan" a much hyped Tamil movie which had big stars ( suriya ,Nayanthra,Vadivelu ) and from a big banner "Red Giant" of Udhyanidhi Stalin and all coming under the direction of K.S.Ravikumar who had successes with likes of Nattamai and Padiyappa. The songs of the movie was already a big success ,scored by Harris jayaraj who always keeps it simple with tunes (though same with most of his movies) that makes younger lot in Chennai swing for his tunes, since we don't get many chance's to dance to the tunes of ARR in Tamil.
The movie starts in Kolkatta where a Hindu Saint from US is on his visit to India, where the villains contract surya to kill the holy man. This somewhat makes audiences to remember the characters like the one which Vijay did in "Pokkiri" and Surya himself in "Aaru" and lot many Tamil hero's think they easily fit these type of characters with hope of hitting into big fame .
Then comes the normal Tamil screen play where the Hero tries to Kill one of the good guys in the society for which he enters into his family and and into their good books. The big relief for the film is Vadivelu's Comedy which sometimes seems like repeated stuff ,but he doesn't disappoint in Aadhavan as well as the tone of his dialogue's and onscreen chemistry (the term which is always used for leading pair ) here it fits to be used with Surya, where Vadivelu is the cook in Murali 's(malayalam Fame) family who is a Specially appointed judge to investigate and find the people behind the murdering of children for their organs.Surya was contracted by the villain's group to Kill Murali whose findings will bring the villain's names on paper.
The twist and turns in the movie goes on,then a flash back comes in with Surya being Murali's son ( madhavan ) who was hated by his father who thinks he is the one who killed his aunt Anu Hasan.
There is nothing worth mentioning about Nayanthra as she doesn't make a big impact on either the story or with the hero. Finally its about the hero killing the bad man and getting united with the family which is any ones guess in Tamil movie's these days. The Only entertainment factors being the songs and vadivelu's comedy and one should feel sorry for Surya who always tries playing on different wickets this time plays safe on directors ground but sadly gets out cheaply.
In Short "Aadhavan" is worth watching ,if you fail to get tickets for the movie you wanted to watch Initially.

Off the Mark..
I never thought of writing blogs in the past but was always interested to read other people's. One reason being I always thing that am not good in writing readable English. But being in IT Industry and the opportunity to be part of this information revolution which I think is a great level playing field for people like me.Given the opportunities and access to various tools and technologies these days and also a medium to register or thrash one's thoughts seeing various atrocities in the society, I feel blogs are one way to get a relief from keeping something which we couldn't express or never get an opportunity to discuss.
